Enquiries

When visitors make an enquiry I collect the data shown in the Contact form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Embedded content from other websites

Content on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long I retain your data

If you make an enquiry, the text you input and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

You can request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where I send your data

Visitor enquiries may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Cookies

I use cookies on this website. A cookie is a text file sent by a web server to a web browser and stored by the browser. The text file is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.

I may send a cookie, which may be stored on by your browser on your computer’s hard drive. I may use the information I obtain from the cookie in the administration of this website, to improve the website’s usability and for marketing purposes. I may also use that information to recognise your computer when you visit this website, and to personalise the website for you. Any advertisers may also send you cookies.

Most browsers allow you to refuse to accept cookies. (For example, in Internet Explorer you can refuse all cookies by clicking ‘Tools’, ‘Internet Options’, ‘Privacy’, and selecting ‘Block all cookies’ using the sliding selector.) However, this will have a negative impact upon the usability of many websites, including this one.

I use Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies which are stored on users’ computers. The information generated relating to this website is used to create reports about the use of the website. Google will store this information.
